Our IPC Unit begins - Chocolate Knowledge Harvest

This week we began our IPC unit enttited - Chocolate.  This is a fun filled, and tasty learning adventure !!  On Monday we completed our knowledge harvest.  The knowledge harvest is where we think about what we know about our topic, making connections to prior learning.  Here are some of the questions we had to think about.

True or False?
Cacao tress only grow near the equator?
Chocolate was discovered by the Mayans?
The Aztec Emperor Montezuma introduced cacao to columbus?
Cacao beans were used as money?
The pods of one cacao tree will make about 20 chocolates?
White chocolate is not real chocolate?

What do you think?

As we progress through the unit, we are able to revisit these questions and see how our knowledge and understanding of our topic has developed !!
