Pictograms and Bar Graphs with Miss Marleen

This week our focus in Maths is all on collecting data, creating a pictograph or bar graph, followed by answering questions about the graph.

Lots of interesting vocabulary is used: raw data, chart, graph, survey, tally chart, scores, pictogram, symbol, key, represent, frequency

We find the interpreting of a graph the most challenging as the vocabulary used is quite specific:

• What is the total of...?
• How many more... than ...?
• What is the most common..?
• Which...is the least popular...?

To help us use the correct vocabulary, we created our own bar graph and asked each other questions.
